Dr. Mark Wagner
Medical DirectorI have been the medical director working with Genesis Healthcare for many years. I take care of many residents at Mifflin Center, Mifflin Court and Berkshire Commons. I have also worked as an attending physician at many other nursing homes in Berks county. I have seen the most diligent work during this pandemic at managing the safety of our residents. Our numbers of positive cases have been managed well with use of personal protective equipment, social distancing and following all of the CDC guidelines. I have had a very positive experience with Genesis management of the pandemic, with stricter adherence to the guidelines than other facilities where I have cared for patients. Our skilled facility has a very low re-hospitalization rate and excellent rate of return to home or previous level of care due to all the services we provide. If you would like to speak with me, please contact the Center at 610-777-7841.

Genuine sincere support and love
Dear Nursing Staff,
Many thanks and appreciation for the genuine sincere support and love for our dad while he was under your watchful care. Your interactions were always professional, positive, encouraging, and gentle. Please know how much this means. Do not underestimate the impact you have had on our dad and us. When our energy and emotions were most vulnerable, you stepped in, ready to offer sympathy, words of hope, and smiles of compassion and understanding. This has been a challenging and difficult journey, one which will stay in our hearts for a lifetime. Your staff so willingly accommodated and connected with our dad, who at times could be defiant and uncooperative. He was a fighter, stubborn, and determined to stay with those he loved as long as his body and mind would allow. You honored and respected who he was. He will truly be missed, but his heart and strong character will live on in his children, wife, family, and friends always.
Fondly,
The Spotts Family
A Special 30th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
Dear Maria,
How can we ever begin to thank you and your incredible staff, for making our 30th Wedding Anniversary so special! You transformed your conference room into a cozy dining room especially for us. The red roses and card were such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture. The handmade cake, delivered at just the right moment... it was delicious! Thank you all again for your kindness. You made our 30th the best one yet. I will always remember you and your team for your generous hearts.
Love,
Mr. & Mrs. K. (resident and his wife)
Going above and beyond
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of the compassion and care you provided to my mom and myself. From the moment she was admitted, you all were an amazing care team. I miss her terribly and am thankful I had the time to spend with her under your guided hands. Had my mom been more present, no doubt she would have loved you all and felt at home. Thank you for going above and beyond to make us both feel comfortable.
Sincerely,
Donna (daughter of patient)
Thank you for EVERYTHING
On behalf of my mom and myself, I want to say thank you for everything you do daily to care for my mom. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for every smile you share, every activity you plan, every call you take and paper you process. Thank you for your knowledge and caring, love and sharing. Thank you for the wheelchair you push and every wipe of a tush. Thank you for listening and every concern and worry. Thank you for every minute of every day that you are there for my mom and everyone else. You are all appreciated, every single one who contributes to the care of so many. God bless you and keep you now and always.
Julie (daughter of patient)
