Cottage of the Shoals is a 103-bed skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. We also have a specialized transitional care unit, which specializes in post-hospital rehabilitation. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. David Grimes
AdministratorDavid Grimes has been dedicated to the field of long-term care since March 1, 1987. Over the course of his career, he has served in various capacities, including Nursing Assistant, Activities Director, and Social Services Designee, before earning his Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) certification in April 1993.
A graduate of Troy University, David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations. He has been licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in four states and currently maintains active licenses in Alabama and Georgia. His leadership experience includes serving as Regional Vice President and Regional Director of Operations, where he successfully guided multiple facilities to operational excellence.
As a federal and state-certified preceptor, David has played a pivotal role in mentoring and training aspiring nursing home administrators. In September 2023, he joined Genesis HealthCare as the Administrator of Cottage of the Shoals, bringing his extensive expertise and commitment to quality care.
David’s dedication to long-term care extends to his family—his daughter, Saige, serves as the Director of Nursing at a skilled nursing facility in Mobile, Alabama, continuing their shared passion for senior care.

Dr. Christine Davis, M.D.
Medical DirectorDr. Christine Davis, M.D. graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She has worked in the Rehabilitation and Long Term Care setting for 15 years. She has been with Genesis Healthcare for 6 years. Dr. Davis has been the medical director of Cottage of the Shoals since 2018. She is very proud to serve as your physician and oversee all of your medical needs while you are receiving care at Cottage of the Shoals.

Felecia Jarmon, RN
Assistant Director of NursingFelecia Jarmon, RN, brings 18 years of nursing experience to her role as Assistant Director of Nursing at Cottage of the Shoals. Her diverse background includes five years specializing in wound care and eight years in nursing management. She has three years of experience in long-term care, along with seven years across hospice, home health, medical-surgical, intensive care (ICU), cardiac care (CCU/CTRU), and cardiac specialties. Felecia’s extensive clinical expertise and leadership skills make her a valuable asset to our team.

James Evans
Director of Marketing and AdmissionsJames Evans is an experienced healthcare marketing and admissions professional with a strong background in community outreach, event planning, and insurance verification. As the Director of Marketing and Admissions at Cottage of the Shoals since 2021, he plays a pivotal role in driving census growth and enhancing the facility’s reputation. With prior leadership roles in recreation and hospice coordination, James brings a compassionate and strategic approach to patient-centered care. He holds an Associate in Applied Sciences and multiple healthcare certifications, demonstrating his dedication to both clinical and administrative excellence.

James Davis
Rehabilitation Program DirectorJames has worked for Genesis Healthcare as a licensed physical therapist assistant for 10 years and has been the therapy manager at Cottage of the Shoals since October 2013. James works with patients, residents and their families to improve their physical functioning through provision of Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy services. He received his education and license as a physical therapy assistant in 2009 from Wallace State University. When asked about his job James stated, “As the Director of Therapy Services here at Keller Landing, I have the privilege of seeing our patient’s extraordinary outcomes first-hand.”
