Brian Woods
Director of NursingAs a critical care travel nurse, Brian found himself in Roswell, NM working in an ICU during peak COVID. After his contract, he enjoyed the state of New Mexico so much he decided to stay. Brian’s background ranges from critical care, cardiopulmonary, stroke, cardiac step down, corrections, skilled nursing and nursing management.
Brian’s nursing career started as a Certified Nursing Assistant who worked full time while attending his nursing program full time. He began his career as both a CNA and nurse on the same stroke, cardiac unit at his local hospital in Cumberland, MD. From there he moved into an ICU role and worked part time at a skilled nursing facility during the week. Eventually he flipped, working full time in a skilled facility and kept his part time hours in ICU. In the skilled nursing facilities he’s worked as a floor nurse, staff educator, evening Supervisor, unit manager and eventually an ADON.
Brian came to Genesis after taking a break from the bedside for a short 6 months, working as a Case Manager for the University of New Mexico Hospitals. Applying for what was deemed the “COVID Center” he had no hesitations and jumped at the challenge.
