Hampshire Center is located in Romney, WV and opened its doors in 1993. Hampshire offers Long-Term Care and Short Stay Rehabilitation. We offer Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy. Our Center offers a wide range of amenities such as a cafe, restaurant-style dining, continental breakfast, free internet and telephone service, TV/cable and a full range of activities seven days a week. Our center prides itself on friendly and knowledgeable staff and our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We make sure everyone feels at home during their stay here. Michelle Abruzzino-Smith
AdministratorMichelle graduated from Fairmont State in 1994 with a Bachelors in Sociology and Human Services. She started working in a Long Term Care in 1997 as a Social Worker then went back to school in 1998 and received her Masters Degree in Social Work in 2000. Michelle was hired as a Social Worker at a Genesis facility in 2000 and eventually enrolled in the AIT program. Michelle became the Administrator at Hampshire Center in 2005 after obtaining her Nursing Home Administrator License.
Dr. Jerry Hahn
Medical DirectorA native of West Virginia, Dr. Jerry Hahn received his Medical Doctorate from Marshall University School of Medicine. Following graduation he stayed at marshall University where he completed a Family Practice Residency. He then completed a Dermatology residency at WVU. Dr. Hahn's 30 years of experience make him an excellent asset to our Genesis facilities. Dr Hahn feels that the staff of both Hampshire and Dawnview have done a wonderful job in keeping all staff and residents safe during this pandemic. He has stated that "During these difficult times we must work together and support each other and use PPE properly."
Elizabeth “Liz” Voit, APRN
Nurse PractitionerLiz is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who is a lifelong Hampshire County resident. She has been the NP at the Hampshire Center since 2017. Liz is an advocate for the geriatric community. She works very close with the staff and residents to make sure the needs of our residents are met. Liz also has a special interest in women's health and dermatology.
Vickie Haines
Director of NursingVickie Haines has been the Director of Nursing since 1998 and was promoted to Senior Director of Nursing in 2006. Vickie started her career with Hampshire Center as a floor nurse in 1993 and shortly after became the CRC. Vickie graduated with her Nursing Degree from Shenandoah University.
Nichole Hines
Director of Marketing and AdmissionsNichole joined the Genesis team in 2005 as a certified Nursing assistant, where she cared for her beloved residents for 16 years until she took the position as the Director of Marketing and Admissions. Nichole has an Associate Degree in Arts.
Stephanie Miller
Director of RehabilitationStephanie has been with Genesis Rehab Services since 2010 and in her present roll as Director of Rehab since 2011. She graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 1996 with her degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Stephanie has served as a mentor for both the Occupational Therapy Assistants and fellow directors of Rehab during her time with Genesis. Her passion is for the geriatric population and being able to be a part in helping each patient and their families achieve their goals. She feels honored to work alongside the facility staff and rehabilitation team at Hampshire Center to provide quality care to make a difference in each patient's life.
OutComes
My mother was in Hampshire Center and while there all of the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. One nurse really stands out her name was Lena. She was one of mother's nurses and you can tell she really enjoys her job. Lena is very personable and went above and beyond what her job requires.
