Pocahontas Center is a skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. Our staff is dedicated to serving the medical and rehabilitation needs of individuals recovering from illness or injury. Dr. Kelby Faulkner
Medical DirectorDr. Faulkiner serves as the Medical Director at Pocahontas Center and acts as Chief of Staff at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room Physician. He has practiced emergency and family medicine since 2004, after serving active duty with the US Army for five years and in the US Army Reserves for nine years. He served overseas in Wuersburg, Germany and Baghdad, Iraq. Dr. Faulkiner has practiced as a physician at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Summersville Regional Medical Center, and Webster County Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Faulkiner is a 2001 graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and in his very spare time enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and farming. He and his wife/family live in Frankford, West Virginia.

Marie Soriano
Director of NursingMarie has been a registered nurse for 22 years. She started her nursing career as a nursing assistant in long-term care. She completed her Master's Degree in nursing in 2007 and is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and recently obtained her certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She has been the Director of Nursing at Pocahontas Center since 1991.

Jody Mohr
AdministratorJody earned both her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from WVU. She started practicing as a Nursing Home Administrator in 2001. She had held Administrator positions across the state of WV before embarking on traveling as an Administrator with Genesis Healthcare in 2017. She has operated centers in WV, KY, and NC and strives to lead resident and family focused care teams.
Jody was born and raised in Elkins, WV and learned to fly fish with her dad in the streams of Pocahontas County. Her daughter and son-in-law reside in Buckeye, WV. She describes the opportunity to settle down in Marlinton her “dream job” and is thrilled to be back home in the mountains of WV as the Administrator at Pocahontas Center.
