"This Genesis building is wonderful! The nursing staff is friendly and always willing to help. The therapy team is excellent. The environment of this facility truly feels like home. There are fun activities for all residents to participate in every day as well as many books, puzzles, and comfortable places to relax. If my family member required additional care then what I home could provide, this would be my top choice!"
Mom is now doing well...
We would like to take a moment to recognize a family who recently had their loved one stay for rehabilitation at Genesis Severna Park. They have asked to remain anonymous.
Dear Severna Park Genesis,
Our mother recently stayed at Severna Park Genesis for rehab after a fall. Considering the fact that this was the latest episode in falling, it was our desire to transition her from her home in Annapolis to assisted living. Upon my mom's admission, I spoke with Kristi (Social Services Director) concerning her history and condition. She was very helpful and offered her services to move mom along toward that goal. She promptly followed up with my various calls and emails, helping me gather information so we could make the best decisions for mom. We had our planning meeting with the various SPG representatives who participated in her care along with my sister who was on speaker phone. Mom was also brought in to be a part of the meeting. I was able to speak to Kristi before the meeting began to share with her how challenging it has been to help mom get to the place of acceptance about going into assisted living.
The meeting began and all of your representatives were very informative in sharing with us the progress that mom was making. When the meeting was over, Kristi stayed with mom and I and she really took the lead in explaining to her how beneficial it would be for her to go to assisted living, even sharing personal stories from her family. At that point, mom agreed and I was very pleased to have been able to break the ice. Of course with her memory issues it took other follow up conversations but I feel it paved the way to where I could share information from the assisted living with her. Kristi was also instrumental in her transition to her assisted living in planning and executing and advocating on mom's behalf. She made a challenging time easier for all of us. Mom is now doing well in her community."
Thank you for this beautiful letter! It was a priviledge for us to serve your mom and your family.
