The Belvedere is a skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term andrespite care. The Belvedere also offers a memory support unit for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. The facility accepts Medicare, Medicaid,and most private insurances. The Belvedere staff is dedicated to serving the medical and rehabilitation needs of individuals recovering from illness or injury and is VA contracted!
Dementia Care Education by Genesis HealthCare is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association® for incorporating evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the following topic areas: Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.

Miata Bamba
AdministratorMiata Bamba has been a valued employee at Genesis since 2015, marking a nine-year tenure of commitment and professional growth within the organization. She began her journey as a Social Service Specialist. She advanced through key roles, including Director of Social Services and Administrator in Training, leading to her appointment as Administrator in June 2023. In November 2024, Miata took on the role of Administrator at The Belvedere Center, where she will continue to positively impact the patient experience.
With academic achievements, including an undergraduate degree from Delaware State University and a double Master's Degree from Wilmington University, Miata’s dedication to continuous learning is a cornerstone of her career. She embodies the principle that “Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation” (Zig Ziglar), and she attributes her accomplishments to this mindset.
Throughout her career, Miata has been committed to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and can thrive. Her role on the National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee reflects her passion for creating a work environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equity. Miata is driven by a vision to ensure that The Belvedere Center remains a warm, welcoming home for its residents. William S. Zirker, M.D., M.P.H, CMD, FACP
Medical DirectorDr. Zirker has been the medical director of the Belvedere for the past 20 years. Dr. Zirker is board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. He serves as the Chief of Geriatric Medicine at Crozer Chester Medical Center and Program Director of the Temple University/Crozer geriatric medicine fellowship. Dr. Zirker is a Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Drexel University School of Medicine. His career and interests are in providing excellent patient care, program development, administration, teaching and research in geriatric medicine. He and his family live in Delaware county and are active in supporting the community and growing the geriatric programs throughout the county.

Carol Dougherty
Director of NursingCarol was born and raised in Delaware County Pennsylvania. She has a degree in Marketing and worked for ARAMARK as a marketing Coordinator prior to becoming a RN. She attended DCCC and received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1994 and her BSN in 2010 from West Chester University. Carol dedicated her nursing career to the public sector working at the county owned Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care center, for 28 years where she held a variety of positions as an RN. Upon her retirement she felt compelled to continue working in Long Term Care in a new environment and was thrilled to come to The Belvedere Center as DON.

Naja Allen
Admissions DirectorNaja started her career with Genesis Healthcare as a social services specialist where she pioneered to become the admissions director. She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has 5+ years of experience in the mental health field and social work. Naja comes with a versatile background experience in behavioral health, sales/marketing and also has experience working in the geriatric population. Naja is very committed to assuring that every patient she encounters has a positive experience.
