Dear Patients, Residents and Families
COVID-19 Second Booster Dose
The CDC recently released a recommendation for a second COVID-19 booster dose for certain persons. Specifically, a second mRNA booster dose could benefit people ages 50 years and older, as they are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. People ages 50 years and older may choose to receive a second booster dose, if it has been at least 4 months after the first booster. We recommend that appropriate residents receive their second booster dose. The COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) are available. Please let your physician or nurse know right away if you or your loved one would like to receive the second booster.

Nancy “Jane” HansonAdministrator
Jane grew up in Rockland, graduated from the University of Maine, married and moved to Rockport for 27 years. After a 25 year banking career, she and her retired husband moved to a farmhouse in Caribou with its wide open spaces and big skies. Her focus on our older population has brought Jane back to the mid-coast to a position in nursing home administration. Jane is happy to be back near the ocean, but still enjoys her farmhouse and potato fields on the weekends.
Laurie Yntema, MDMedical Director
Dr. Yntema earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in Internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland ME and then proceeded to a 17-year stint as a primary care doctor at Ellsworth Internal Medicine. During those years she worked a couple days each month in the local nursing facilities attending her own patients and patients of her colleagues as well as a week a month at Maine Coast Hospital. After 15 years, she became Medical Director at two local facilities due to other local physicians retirement or lack of interest. From the start, she found particular satisfaction in the provision of care to these populations. it laid the groundwork for her decision to transition to full time work at Community Care and Geriatrics of PCHC. Though she still misses the continuity of care afforded by her early years in medical practice, Dr. Yntema truly enjoys her current job. She lives in East Blue Hill with her husband, twin sons who are almost 18, two dogs, three cats, and innumerable bird feeders.
Erica Lilly, RNDirector of Nursing
Erica grew up in Belfast, Maine, then moved to Virginia in 2000. She graduated from John Tyler Community College School of Nursing in 2010. Her nursing career started in the acute care setting as an ICU Nurse and then ICU Nurse Manager until moving back to Maine in 2015. In 2015, Erica graduated from Western Governors' University with a Master's in Nursing Administration and Leadership. Her first job with Genesis was 2017 as a Clinical Reimbursement Manager. Over time, she decided to try something new and worked as a Director of Nursing in adolescent psychiatric care for two years before traveling as an Interim Director of Nursing for several different facilities. In 2021, the opportunity to work in her hometown for Genesis as the Harbor Hill CNE opened up and she was elated. Erica lives in Montville with her husband and children, enjoying all the adventures that Maine has to offer.
Karin Stupca, LSWDirector of Admissions and Marketing

Karin’s background includes work with intellectual disabilities, mental health case management, crisis pregnancies and older adults. She began working part time for Genesis as the Social Service Assistant at Windward Gardens in 2015. In 2018, she accepted the position of Director of Social Services at Harbor Hill. The following year Karin moved into the role of Director of Admissions and Marketing where she enjoys being a liaison between her community and the Genesis Harbor Hill campus.

Harbor Hill has been very, very helpful. The meals... we eat all the time. They have the greatest cook here - better than a restaurant. The nurses, all the people around here, are so helpful... very polite. The rehab department is right after you - works you a lot. Way about excellent!
