Miletree Center is a skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. Our staff is dedicated to serving the medical and rehabilitation needs of individuals recovering from illness or injury. Miletree Center is an AHCA Bronze Quality Award Winner!

Christina Starcher
AdministratorChristina has worked in health care since 2004, beginning her career initially with us as a Recreation Director. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, she worked as a Director of Marketing and Admissions and Nursing Scheduler prior to becoming a Licensed Administrator in 2016. Christina enjoys leading her team with enthusiasm and compassion, and providing the highest quality of care to every resident. She is thrilled to be back at Miletree Center and loves that she is serving the community in which she lives. Please help us welcome her home!
Dr. Christiansen
Medical DirectorDr. Christiansen is proud to have provided medical care at Miletree Center for the past 20 years. As a family physician he divides his time as medical director of both Miletree and Roane County Family Health Care in Spencer, WV. His hobbies include sailing, perfecting his French abilities and leading a Boy Scout Troop. He enjoys hearing the unique life stories of our residents. In light of the potential harm the pandemic poses for nursing home residents in particular, Dr. Christiansen is vigilant in ensuring the safety and health of Genesis Healthcare’s patients. He stands behind the initiatives and processes Genesis has put in place and says, Safety is our top priority! If you would like to speak with me, please contact the Center at 304-927-1007.
Michelle Kunkel
Director of NursingMichelle began her career in healthcare in 1997 when she enrolled in a CNA training program. She quickly learned that helping people was her passion. She went on to graduate from Garnet Career Center in 1999 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 2003, she decided to take her nursing career to the next level and enrolled in an LPN to BSN program. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mountain State University in 2006. Michelle worked for Miletree Center for 6 years and held the roles of staff nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Reimbursement Coordinator backup and Nurse Practice Educator. She left Genesis in 2011 to pursue an opportunity as a dialysis nurse manager, but realized that long-term care was her true passion. She returned to Miletree Center in 2019 as the Clinical Reimbursement Coordinator and was recently promoted to Director of Nursing. Michelle is passionate and leads by example, providing high-quality, compassionate care for her residents as well as a fair, equitable and positive work environment for her staff. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, farming, fishing and kayaking.
Whitney Casto
Director of Marketing and AdmissionsIn 2020, Whitney joined the admission team after working years in the activities department. Whitney advocates for patients and walks families through the referral to admission process.
Miranda Burbank
Director of RehabilitationMiranda received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from West Virginia University. Miranda has worked for Genesis since 2001 in various positions until returning to Miletree Center as the Speech Therapist in 2018. Dementia Specialty is her passion and she loves living and working in her hometown and giving back to the community that she was raised in.
