Positive Outcome
Mr. Piekarek was admitted to subacute rehab at Millville Center in January 2020 as a new bilateral amputee. Upon admission, Mr. Piekarek required assistance for all tasks and a mechanical lift for transfers. With the help of his Physical and Occupational Therapists, he is now able to transfer himself without physical assistance, complete his bathing and dressing in bed, and he is able to safely use a powerchair within his home and community. Mr. Piekarek's positive attitude contributed to his success and he served as a source of motivation to other patients during his therapy sessions.
